Description:
The primary duties of the Cultural Resource Specialist are to perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard science techniques and procedures for archaeological and historic structure assessment projects. Will make decisions on significant design and scientific procedures, responsible for survey data compilation, assessment, analysis within historic contexts, historic context development, and report writing. Will liaison with agency personnel with oversight responsibility for compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act, specifically Section 106 related activities. Will develop, in close consultation with key stakeholders, memoranda of understanding that detailed project-related commitments and responsibilities. May function as technical specialist, field supervisor or project manager on mid-size projects but project management is not sole focus of position. May supervise a group of professionals and technicians.

Experience Required:
Masters degree in Engineering, Archaeology, History or related field. 3+ years experience in cultural resource projects. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Must demonstrate knowledge of and experience with Section 106 compliance-related activities including consultation, quality assurance and reviews. Willingness to work under varied weather conditions.
